PlayBingoPlus
During my time at Leisure Electronics, one of my primary objectives was to enhance the PlayBingoPlus website. PlayBingoPlus is the online gaming platform for the company, offering Bingo and Slots to customers. I aimed to redesign the site to better reflect the vibrant, live energy of the bingo experience and to capture the lively atmosphere created by the live bingo presenters.
When I first started, this is how the website looked:
This is the view customers would see upon loading the site. Upon analysis, I identified several areas for improvement: there was a lot of wasted space, the initial screen lacked key information, and the overall design felt too dark and uninviting. To better understand how to improve the user experience, I compared the PlayBingoPlus site with other popular bingo platforms like Mecca Bingo and Gala Bingo. I noticed that these sites all featured bright, engaging designs, which gave me the insight that we should adopt a similar approach.
With that in mind, I designed a new landing page, which you can see here:
The version I created is still live today and can be visited at www.playbingoplus.com. The new design is noticeably brighter, creating a more inviting atmosphere, and it allows customers to access far more information right from the start. The top banner is now a dynamic carousel that can display a variety of content. For example, if a promotion is running, a graphic can be easily added to highlight it.
The updated layout also features a sleek section for live bingo, displaying the name of the presenter currently live and showcasing the prize money available at specific times. Additionally, the design introduces the slot section in a way that encourages exploration, showing customers that there’s even more to discover as they scroll down the page.
SlotFeatures
Later in my time at Leisure Electronics, I came up with the idea to create a dedicated site focused entirely on SEO-friendly content, which I called Slot Features. The main goal of this site was to generate backlinks to PlayBingoPlus while providing valuable information to customers about different slot games. The concept was to create hundreds of pages, each dedicated to a specific slot game, with each page highlighting that the game could be played on PlayBingoPlus.
We decided to build a separate site rather than simply adding these pages to PlayBingoPlus because the PlayBingoPlus platform was primarily built with complex code, making it a substantial amount of work for software developers to add these additional pages.
With the support of a web developer, I helped bring this project to life. I worked on the site’s structure and content, editing and adding new pages through WordPress to ensure it was optimized for both SEO and user engagement.
